John Costello is a Knights of Columbus Field Agent and a Fourth Degree member, serving brother Knights and their families in Lincoln, Ashland, Tecumseh, St. Mary’s, Sterling, Syracuse and surrounding areas. John has been a member of the Knights since 2006 and became a field agent in 2013.

“I’m dedicated to serving the needs of my Knights of Columbus members and their families, and continuing the work of our founder, Father Michael J. McGivney,” says John. “Fr. McGivney knew that his parishioners were the foundation of our Church and need to be protected both spiritually and financially. As a field agent, helping to secure the insurance and financial needs of my Knights of Columbus families is of the utmost importance, and I am dedicated to fulfilling that role.”

Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, John attended San Diego Mesa College in California. He later became a licensed real estate agent in San Diego, and then a licensed investment banker for 7 years. He currently holds a Life and Annuities, Sickness, Accident and Health insurance license, as well as the FICF insurance designation.

John is married to his wife, Myra, who is an NICU Registered Nurse at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, as well as a Reserve Flight Nurse for the U.S. Airforce. They have three children, Madeleine, Magdalena, and Michael, and are parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church
in Lincoln.

A member of St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus Council #4923, John is involved in pro-life activities locally and throughout the U.S, and helps to promote vocations, membership and fundraising activities. He also volunteers for St. Joseph Catholic School.

“Being involved in my church community, while also helping my members achieve financial security when each family is in need is why I became an agent,” says John. “Helping protect families is my calling.”

John has extensive knowledge of the products the Knights of Columbus offers

and stands ready to help Knights and their families achieve their financial goals.
